Halloween doesn't have to be a scary time of the year when you are working towards a health goal. Here are some ways you can enjoy the occasion and not be overwhelmed with the selection of treats on offer.
Try preparing your own treats so you can see what goes into them – instead of store-bought sweets, which can be overloaded with refined sugar.
Use Calocurb to help keep your candy consumption in check. While using Calocurb – the urge to binge on readily available snacks will decrease - allowing you to enjoy a couple of small treats at a time.
We 💚 this recipe bursting with flavour:
Keto Avocado Brownies
4 large eggs
2 ripe avocados
1/2 cup butter, melted
6 tbsp unsweetened peanut butter
2 tsp baking soda
2/3 cup coconut sugar
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
Flaky sea salt (optional)
Preheat oven to 180°C and line a square pan with parchment paper. In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients except flaky sea salt and blend until smooth. Transfer batter to prepared baking pan and smooth top with a spatula. Top with flaky sea salt, if using.
Bake until brownies are soft but not at all wet to the touch, about 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool 25 to 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
🍭Are you expecting trick-or-treaters in your area?
Hold off on breaking open those bags until just before the trick-or-treaters arrive to avoid any pre-snacking (or running out of candy) situations!
🍬Remember – it's just one day of the year.
If you do overindulge – it's perfectly ok. Life is all about balance – so plan on making a tasty, nutritious meal over the weekend and get back on track once the festivities are over.
